In a past life, Scott has worked as a computer programmer...at least that's what his boss thought he was doing. He is currently unemployed and admits that it is the best job he's ever had. He spends most of his day playing pool, hiking on trails around his new home, and wishing he had Internet access in the middle of the jungle. He hopes to be able to squeeze a little fishing into his busy schedule once the fishing season starts.

Erica is the english and math teacher for the new school that has been started at the Rio Negro Lodge (affectionately called Marstellarville). She spends her days working her fingers to the bone teaching english to children and employees. When she's not teaching school, she is preparing lessons for the next day. She hopes to find more hours in the day so she can work, work, work! Oh, when she's not scratching her bug bites, she enjoys playing with the monkeys.

Background Information

It all started a few years ago, when Erica and Scott decided to do something "a little different" with their lives. No more regular, 9-to-5, hello-my-name-is-Scott-I-work-for-the-MAN! No siree, bob! We both enjoy travelling, so we devised a plan. We would intrepidly travel around the US until money got short, seeing our great nation, going where few get the opportunity, at least few under the age of 55. We sold most of our earthly possessions and purchased (Mistake #1) a brand-spanking new (Mistake #2) 37' Winnebago Adventurer...our new home. It became our new home becuase we sold our old home. We were going to have to save up money, while planning the trip of a lifetime so we lived in the RV for 8 months or so. We continued to save up money, not nearly as much as we had hoped, but eventually we would be able to go out on the road for a while.
I was at work one day, when Erica called me. It seems that a teacher with whom she worked had a brother-in-law who was looking for a private teacher for his son. "Wow", I thought. Why in the world would someone hire a private teacher just for his kid? Well, because he didn't live in the US...he owned a fishing resort in a very remote location in Brazil and there was no school. How many people would be willing to drop everything and relocate to another country? Needless to say, the competition wasn't too stiff.
Now we had to sell all of the thing
